Clinical Study on the Surgical Treatment of Renal Tuberculosis

Abstract
Surgical treatment is often required in the treatment of advanced renal tuberculosis but is not urgent in most of the cases. A review of 108 patients with renal tuberculosis has shown that 6 months of triple chemotherapy is desirable before operation. Nephrectomy or reconstructive surgical procedures including enterocystoplasty can be performed and the postoperative medical treatment should be maintained for 12 to 18 months.
